Nelson Traverso Velázquez obtained a Magna Cum Laude Business Administration Bachelors degree at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. (1981) Since then, he has been devoted to his professional development. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1981 and has strived for growth in various fields during an accelerated, productive career: public accounting, consumer business, Puerto Rico government service, and entrepreneurship. CPA Traversos interest and enthusiasm about his Continued Education Process has engaged him in courses, seminars and training offered by worldwide known professors of Harvard and MIT, among others. In August 1996, he commenced a research program about Internet security and has continued his formal training in this area. He created SayNet, Inc. and established himself as Partner of Traverso & Rodríguez. Both firms are specialized in providing a variety of products and services related to secure electronic commerce through World Wide Web Internet for both, businesses and consumers. As part of his contribution to the community he serves as well as to his profession, CPA Traverso holds various offices in professional societies and nonprofit organizations. In addition, CPA Traverso has offered various courses in the United States and Puerto Rico, has written various articles, and has dictated conferences on security and privacy in the Internet and the social-economic impact of the Puerto Rico Digital Signatures Act. (Enacted in 1998). On August 6, 1999, he offered his most recent conference, "Technology and Education," before the Congreso Interamericano de Profesores del Área Contable, an organization that groups more than 20 American countries. All his efforts and dedication has earned him various honors and distinctions: CPA Nelson Traverso is a young Puerto Rican professional who puts his passion about technology knowledge and the security and confidentiality of electronic commerce at his profession and community service.
