Mr. Traverso has an accelerated, productive career in public accounting, consumer business, Puerto Rico government service, and an entrepreneur. His experience includes working with Ernst & Young and other international and national companies. He is also Founder and President of SayNet, Inc., the first Certification Authority based in Puerto Rico, which provides services related to authentication, privacy and e-security for commerce conducted over the Internet.
Nelson is the first CPA holding the designations of Digital Signatures Certified Engineer and Instructor comprising US and Non-US Public Key Infrastructure technologies, VeriSign and Thawte, respectively. He specializes in policies and procedures related to authentication and privacy issues in accordance with legislation. In his search for e-security technology knowledge and security processes models, he has traveled around the world (USA, South Africa, Europe, and Spanish speaking countries). He is certified by the AICPA to teach CPA WebTrust and other E-Security courses.
Mr. Traverso has written various articles and has dictated conferences on security and privacy in the Internet and the social-economic impact of the Puerto Rico Digital Signatures Act which became effective January 1, 2000. In addition, he has offered various courses on wireless telecommunications and security and confidentiality of electronic commerce in the US and Puerto Rico. He is a member of the faculty of the continued Education Program of the Puerto Rico society of CPAs-Technology, Telecommunications, and Internet areas and also the Liaison committee between the private enterprise and the University of Puerto Rico Business Administration Faculty.
